Weekly Newsletter — February 19, 2026
HERE’S YOUR WEEKLY OVERVIEW OF WHAT IS HAPPENING AT COMMUNITY CHURCH + IN THE COMMUNITY!
highlight of the week: navigate this sunday!
Navigate is a course designed to help you discover and understand your spiritual gifts through a biblical framework. We’ll explore what spiritual gifts are (and aren’t), offer real-time feedback on your unique gift dynamics, and help you see how God has uniquely designed you to serve. This experience will help you gain clarity on your gift, learn how to use it well, and find meaningful ways to connect and serve within the church. This condensed format is the same content as the 8-week group and is a great option if you can’t commit to an 8-week group due to your schedule. Join us this Sunday, February 22 from 11:30am-4:30pm in the Spring at GBCC! Learn more and register here.
THIS SUNDAY’S MESSAGE
This Sunday we will continue in our series titled “Activate” where we will be on the topic of community transformation. Join us at 8am & 10am and hot breakfast at 9am! Watching online? We stream our 10am message live - find here! Watching after service is over? Find message here.
join the Children’s team!
We're making room so ALL kids 5th grade and under have a place to hear about God and His Word. We're looking to build 7 teams of 2 for ages Kinder - 3rd grade so we can open more rooms, have smaller class sizes, and share Jesus in age appropriate ways with the families of GBCC. Let us know you're ready to invest in the kids of His kingdom here!
new all stars
The N.E.W. All-Stars are heading into our 5th season, and we’re looking for adult volunteers to help make it our best one yet! This non-competitive baseball league serves adults ages 19+ with intellectual and physical disabilities—and our biggest need is player partners who can come alongside athletes, build friendships, and share in the joy of the game. And yes… it is SO fun. Expect high-fives, laughter, big smiles, and moments that will absolutely make your week. No baseball experience needed—just a willingness to show up, encourage, and have a great time. Games are played Monday evenings at Resch Miracle Field. Come be part of a community where everyone wins—on and off the field. Learn more and find player + volunteer registration here.

AFRICA PARTNERSHIP UPDATE
We’re excited to share new and growing global partnerships that God is opening through GBCC. This year, we’re partnering with Leadership Farm in Zambia, where a team from GBCC will travel to invest in future leaders by teaching spiritual formation, leadership development, and practical skills. We’re also launching African Internships at GBCC—a 10-week program welcoming 10 students from Africa to intern within our church and alongside local businesses and nonprofits. Host families and internship placements are needed to make this possible.
MORE ON AFRICA PARTNERSHIP: MALAWI LUNCHEON WITH JOSIE CHARTER
In addition to our Africa Partnership, through David and Catherine Ames, we continue our partnership in Malawi with the Orphans of God Ministry. Josie Charter, Fund Coordinator for Support Malawi (formerly Aquaid Lifeline) will be at GBCC from England on Sunday, February 22, for both services and a luncheon to follow in The Cave. Josie has thousands of stories - inspirational, humorous, powerful, awe-inspiring - and she’d love to share them with you over lunch from 12pm-1:30pm. Thank you for praying, giving, and being part of how God is moving locally and globally. You can RSVP for luncheon here!
WOMEN’S CAPTIVATING RETREAT: INVITATION FOR WOMEN TO LIVE FULLY & FREELY IN RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD!
Do you know your irreplaceable role? Not the one that keeps the family calendar running or holds everything together behind the scenes—but the role God uniquely envisioned for you as a woman. Many women show up faithfully, serve generously, and still feel a quiet sense that something deeper has been set aside or forgotten. Captivating Core is an invitation to pause and ask the deeper questions: Who did God create me to be? Am I living fully in that calling? Through teaching, reflection, and intentional space, women are invited to discover and recover their feminine heart—the heart designed for strength, beauty, and deep connection.
This retreat isn’t about adding more to your plate. It’s about returning to what matters most and learning how to live from a place of fullness rather than obligation. Join us this May 14th-17th for Captivating Core and begin living more deeply, more freely, and more fully in the role only you can fill. Learn more and register here.
MEAT THE PANTRY 2026
We’re hosting a meat collection for The Giving Tree Food Pantry, gathering high-needed meat items to help stock their freezers for local families in Howard-Suamico. Protein is one of the most requested and hardest-to-keep-in-stock items, and your donation helps provide nourishing, well-balanced meals for households walking through a tough season. You can return your donations THIS Sunday, February 22 or Wednesday, February 25. Thank you for loving our community in such a practical way! Learn more or volunteer here!
Splash Class for children being baptized
Is your child asking questions about what it means to follow Jesus or have they made the decision to follow Jesus, but haven't been baptized yet? We’d love to have you at our next Splash Class! We’ll chat about the who, what, why of baptism, discuss the differences between salvation and baptism, and will answer questions children may have about what to expect when getting baptized. Splash Class on Sunday, February 22, 11:15-11:45am in the Cave.
WALK IN YOUR GIFT ONE DAY GROUP
Having already discovered your spiritual gift through Navigate, this next step is designed to help you go deeper. Walk in Your Gift is for those who want to better understand their gifting, grow in confidence, and learn how to fully embrace and live it out. Join us Sunday, March 1 from 11:30am-1:30pm at GBCC in the Spring. Cost is $50 with lunch and workbook included! This experience is intentionally designed for those who have completed Navigate and are ready to take their next step in learning to operate their gift. Learn more and register here.
FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY
Financial Peace University (FPU) is a nine-week class for everyone, no matter what your financial state, in which you learn practical steps to beat debt, take control of your money, build wealth, and give generously. Class members will meet every Wednesday, starting March 4, 6:00-7:30pm, in Room 201A at GBCC. You will watch the lesson together and engage in discussion around what they just learned. CONNECT TO COMMUNITY
Join us for Connect to Community, on the first Sunday of each month. This gathering is free to attend and a great first step in getting to know GBCC. Join us from 10am–11am in the Church Office Area. Come a little early and enjoy breakfast! You’ll meet some of our pastors, elders, and staff, get a simple overview of who we are as a church, and learn how you can get involved. We’ll also answer any questions you may have. Our hope is that you’ll meet new friends, catch a clear picture of our beliefs, and discover real ways to connect.
Join us next Sunday, March 1 at 10am — RSVP HERE.
GENEROSITY REPORT
Giving is an expression of our gratitude and love for God and others. When we share what we have, we participate in building His kingdom and blessing those around us. As Acts 20:35 says, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."
At GBCC we strive to live with open hands, reflecting God's heart of generosity in all we do. As we work together to fulfill our mission in Green Bay, we want to keep you regularly informed about our financial journey.
Each week we will inform you of where we stand. For the week of February 12th • Total giving was $41,640 As Winston Churchill once said, "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."
When we give, we help build a community rooted in love, kindness, and selflessness, reflecting the very nature of Christ. Thank you for your commitment and passion for reflecting the nature of Christ in our church!
